Gina’s Italian Cuisine
The Project: Design an original responsive website for an Italian Cuisine company, marrying the theme of the client’s music career with the theme of the Cuisine business.
Project Duration: July 1st - August 31, 2024
My Role: Website Designer creating a responsive website for a client, from conception to delivery.
My Responsibilities: Conducting competitive audits; paper and digital wireframing; low- and high-fidelity prototyping; conducting and moderating usability studies; accounting for accessibility; and iterating on designs, all while maintaining an open communication with the client throughout the iterative process.
Current User Flow
My client wanted a very simple user flow for her website, that perfectly balanced the theme of her music career with catering to followers of her Italian Cuisine. She also asked that I maintain her existing brand in terms of color choices and typography.
Early Sketches and Sitemap
Since my client needed to make sure certain elements and features were included in certain pages of her website, I first sketched out a couple of design options, then created a simple sitemap to organize my ideas. After receiving feedback on which design my client liked best, I began wireframing.
Wireframes
I further iterated on the design we settled on in wireframes, to ensure that everything was well-organized and formatted. I also began playing around a bit with typography, but quickly discovered I should save that for the mockup itself.
Final Design
I created my mockups based on the existing color scheme and typography of my client’s existing brand and logo design. I also imported stock photos of her music and cuisine businesses to help the mockup feel as close to the final product as possible. My client was very satisfied and only asked for minor adjustments! I edited based on her requests and finalized the prototype.
